![]() ![]() And of course, like many woodworking projects, if you don't pay close attention to the details right from the get-go, things won't work out as well as you'd hoped! HUGE mistake! My only excuse I can fall back on is that I was in a hurry to get this done (Christmas is fast approaching!). Here's where I went wrong: I didn't pay close enough attention to the recommended widths I was bandsawing the strips to, as I thought it wouldn't matter that much. First of all, if you look closely on the very first photo at the top of this post, you'll notice that not all of the pieces line up. BTW, stand by for a complete review of the drum sander. Here's a few photos showing the glue-up, jointing (having a 16" jointer is nice for such work) and my new 18/36 Craftex drum sander. He's got a very interesting Youtube channel where he fully describes his process, as well as links to free plans. The design is that of Muntyan Andrey, a Russian woodworker whose company is MTMWood. In the above photo, the board is ready to be finished. This is my first attempt at making a 3D end grain cutting board. ![]()
